Distress Call

Programme Outline

Using mathematical symbols for more than, less than and equals

Amber picks up a distress message from a spaceship and recognises Uncle Zak’s voice. She loses the signal and cannot remember the wavelength. Numberella introduces the symbols for ‘less than’ and ‘more than’. The children eventually find the signal and Uncle Zak appears to have the situation under control. Amber is bewildered and relieved when Uncle Zak suddenly appears in the workshop and explains that he and Botler were recording a play to test an old radio. They were never in any real danger.
