Aims
To show how:
- new hypotheses, although initially dismissed by the scientific establishment, may have strong experimental support, and in time may gain general acceptance
- evolution of a particular species does not happen in isolation; co-evolution offers advantage to both species
- scientific experiments can be used to investigate long-term evolutionary processes
