Aims

As a result of watching the programme, students will:

  • appreciate the diversity of women's experiences according to ethnicity, social class, region, religion;
  • know and understand the meanings of and distinction between terms and concepts relating to equality;
  • apply their knowledge and understanding in order to think critically about the nature of their own society;
  • use a range of sources to describe, explain and analyse the key features and characteristics of women's work in the twentieth century;
  • think critically about the media as an agent of social control;
  • understand and think critically about the nature and purpose of propaganda, information and education in their own society and that of others.
