To raise awareness of:

• the impact of the global AIDS epidemic in different communities
• the nature of the HIV virus, which causes the ultimately fatal condition known as AIDS
• different ways in which people can become infected with the HIV virus, and ways of preventing infection
• similarities and differences in the way HIV and AIDS can affect the lives of individuals and communities in Kenya and the UK
• the importance of frank, open discussion in protecting people from the virus and in reducing prejudice against those with HIV or AIDS
