Lordswood Girls' School

Lordswood Girls' School and The Sixth Form Centre, Harborne is a specialist media arts college situated in Birmingham. The school serves some of the most disadvantaged areas of the City of Birmingham and the neighbouring borough of Sandwell. Fifty per cent have English as an additional language and the school's ethnic breakdown reflects the multi-cultural nature of Birmingham. This diversity creates a stimulating and challenging environment in which to work. The school offers an excellent academic education within a happy and purposeful community. High quality teaching, firm discipline, good facilities and valuing each individual are central to our exciting approach to study. The School's mission statement of 'Excellence in Education Today for the Women of Tomorrow' continues to summarise our overall approach to teaching and learning which is to offer an excellent all-round education to students at all levels with an eye to the future. In particular, the use of the complete range of communication technologies within Media Arts to enhance teaching and learning in an innovative, exciting and inclusive way is central to our target of success for everyone.
