The final bulletin was made up of local stories, a feature item, and an on-the-day piece made by the school teams.
Eighteen student hopefuls auditioned to be the news presenters. Two were chosen.
One student from each school came to the Channel 4 newsroom at ITN's London headquarters for the day itself. Together with the Channel 4 news journalists, they selected the stories, scripted the links and newsbelts and prepared and edited the bulletin. Finally, the two presenters went into the studio to face the cameras.
