Caludon Castle School is an 11-18 comprehensive, with Business and Enterprise Specialist School status. It is situated on the north east edge of Coventry, working within a federation of schools and FE colleges in that sector of the city. The school currently has approximately 1500 students on roll, with an increasing sixth form (currently about 280 students). The school's results have improved tremendously over the past four years. In 2005, 71% of students gained 5 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C.
The present school occupies a series of 7 separate buildings along a quarter of a mile long roadway, within a 72 acre site. These buildings will be demolished from February 2005 to 0ctober 2006, as we move into the new state of the art accommodation being built alongside the old.
Caludon Castle students are given the opportunity to study Media at both GCSE and A level, and this year's students are piloting the English phase of a new AS level in Moving Image Arts.
