This unit examines ethical practice in journalism as well as the internal and external institutional contexts within which TV journalists operate. Students will consider the implications for journalistic practice.

The unit suggests giving students practice using the specially developed eSEQ tool. This will give students some sense of the pressures and technologies involved in news production.

In this unit students will:

1. demonstrate understanding of the aims of TV journalism
2. demonstrate understanding of the internal institutional contexts of TV journalism
3. demonstrate understanding of the external institutional contexts of TV journalism.
