This unit examines TV news programmes to analyse how news stories are selected and structured. Students will practise selecting and developing prospective news stories.

In this unit students will:

1. analyse a TV news programme in terms of news values
2. analyse a TV news programme in terms of the conventions of the genre
3. analyse a news story in terms of structure and treatment.
