Felicity Spector, chief sub words talks about her role as style guru for Channel 4 News. It's her job to write catchy lead-in scripts| which the presenter will read to introduce each story. Because she can access all the scripts that reporters and producers have written for individual stories on ENPS, she has an overall sense of the shape of the programme and is able to make back references and highlight any connections between stories.

She reads the opening of her lead-in script about the UN World Summit. It has to grab the attention of viewers, otherwise they will switch off.

Programme editor Ed Fraser tells Felicity that Edward Mortimer, Kofi Annan's speechwriter, has agreed to be interviewed for the UN World Summit story. Ed checks to see if he should be described as Kofi Annan's special advisor or speechwriter on the programme.
