This month's The TV Show (aired 2 February) is now available on 4oD.
Give your opinion on the latest show, suggest topics for the next and continue the debates on good comedy and bad taste and Supersize vs Superskinny below.

The TV Show Debates:

1. Within the best possible taste
As Bremner, Bird and Fortune gets the all clear from Ofcom over a sketch involving Madeleine McCann. The TV Show asks where's the line between good laugh and bad taste?
Bremner, Bird and Fortune was the most-complained about C4 programme in October, but comedians are regularly accussed of crimes against good taste.
Recent examples include Comedy Live Presents: Russell Brand and Friends and Channel 4's The Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2007.

2. Supersize vs Superskinny
In a new Channel series Supersize vs Superskinny (started 22 January) an undereater and an overeater switch diets, with the hope that both will see the error of their eating habits.
What attracts viewers to such programmes and how do they benefit us? Are we being educated about healthy diet, or is it voyeuristic entertainment at the expense of others? Is possible to make the point without extreme diets or putting flesh on display?

If those topics don’t wash, suggest another.

What programmes have you loved or loathed this month?
This month The TV Show focused on the following:

Image shows comedian and writer Chris Langham and psychologist Dr Pamela Connolly.

I think the show with Chris Langham was very much on the cusp of what is socially acceptable in this country. I admit to watching it, firstly to see him squirm, however as the show went on displaying so many private moments of his life it became far more like watching someone's session with their therapist. Too close to the cusp for me - not entertainment. Shouldn't be portrayed as such.

Well done to Krishnan on his interview with Mr. Djelic and British Foreign Minister on latest developments in Serbia. This is the best interview regarding Serbia/Kosovo issue that I have seen since 1997 when I came to live in England. Fantastic questions which finally gave chance Serbian side to explain bit better (need more chances) what are the major issues for them. And good questions to Mr. Foreign Minister whose answers were: bla, bla, bla. What did he actually say? Why do we suppose to let Kosovo go? Just because they say so. They are bigger, have more money and power and they can do whatever they like. What I would like to see more though, is, historians from Serbia explaining to British public when the problems really started, bcs. most people think they started with Milosevic. It would be good to give your viewers deeper knowledge since they will be paying this expansive mistake UK Gov is making for many yrs. My English husband is not very keen to have his money going there..

Justin Lee Collins

I have noticed Justin Lee Collins develop his career over the years and have to say that he is not only one of the funniest people on TV of the present day but also one of the most genuine. From "10 things" to now, he has the gift of engagement, of endearment, and empathy to even the most difficult characters. His latest series shows him as an entertainer but also a chameleon of many guises that show he can engage an audience as well as an eccentric personality. Long before the "JLC" got his C4 show with Alan Carr he carried himself with great aptitude for television and I personally would love to have a beer with him. Is that not just the best reference? JLC is a true entertainer, a comedian well beyond a sit-com or stand up. This man is a modern day genius; I'm glad that C4 signed him up - don't ** it up C4, you would both lose on BBC or ITV.

I just watched the show. It was great but shame it wasn't longer! I'm laughing at the fact that the doctor (Supersize vs Superskinny) said all 16 of us benefited or something like that. Really?? There is a lot that I take issue with but for now I maintain my silence. I will be back at a more appropriate moment.

Channel 4 Property show discussion for Krishnan
wrote on 02-02-08 12:29

I believe Krishnan should host a show discussing the impact of whether Channel 4 property shows have helped drive the massive rise in house prices, which now looks to be coming to end.

It might be good to get the organiser of the House Price Crash website on against someone like Sarah Beeny, or perhaps for a better presented negative view Merryn Somerset Webb from Moneyweek magazine. I think it would be a very timely deabte.
