Dispatches: Immigration: The Inconvenient Truth was the most appreciated programme in April, while I Am the Elephant Man: A Bodyshock Special generated the most criticism – predominantly over its inclusion of a pig being slaughtered.Channel 4's Viewer Enquiries team handled a total of 17,256 contacts – phone calls and emails – from viewers last month. Each query was logged and the appropriate people at Channel 4 notified.
Of these contacts, 1,593 criticised Channel 4's shows, while 240 complimented the programmes broadcast. The vast majority of contacts were general enquiries, most commonly about scheduling.
