It's winter. It's night for roughly 25-hours-a-day, and (in these days of global warming) the temperature gauge has plunged to only 18 degrees centegrade. What a fantastic time of year! Never is there a better excuse to curl up in front of the telly with a remote control and a day-long supply of crisps and cakes (sorry, Jamie, we mean healthy and inspiring snacks). The remote control, incidentally, is only necessary for flipping between the Channel 4 stable of stations. Don't believe us? Then check out this indispensable cut-out-and-keep guide to the season's programmes (NB do not actually attempt to cut out of the computer screen).
