Channel 4 opens new northern hub in Manchester
Channel 4 today announced the opening of a new office in Manchester city centre creating a North West hub for the broadcaster’s commercial, creative and industry partners.
The channel’s growing regional sales team in Manchester, headed up by Ewan Douglas, form the core of the new premises – and an open hub space with up to 15 hot desks and meeting rooms for up to 60 people will be available to Channel 4’s Growth Fund indies and its production, creative, commercial and third party sales partners, as well as the Channel 4 Board, Commissioning, Creative Diversity and All 4 Games teams.
Speaking ahead of the official opening of the office, David Abraham, Chief Executive said: “Channel 4 plays a significant role in stimulating the creative economy in the UK nations and regions. Over half of our original commissions were from outside of London last year and the regional sales team significantly contribute to our overall sales house revenues.
“The new Manchester hub demonstrates Channel 4’s continued commitment to developing even stronger relationships with regional creative and media companies, and supporting smaller businesses as they grow.”
The Manchester office was designed by Minifie Architects who have created unique branding to reflect the Channel 4 Sales team’s creative and diverse offer to the advertising market outside of London.
The premises are located centrally at 82 King Street, Manchester, M2 4WQ – close to mainline city transport links to ensure the hub is easily accessible.
Interested partners wishing to use the space should contact Laura Pritchard at email@example.com who will manage the hub.
Channel 4 has four regional offices including Glasgow where the Creative Diversity and All 4 Games teams are based, and two further Channel 4 Sales offices in Belfast and Dublin.
