In 2012 Channel 4 will be significantly increasing the number of hours of entertainment on its main channel. We’re looking for new, mischievous and irreverent entertainment programming with a broad appeal.
Friday Nights have already become a destination for entertainment programming on the channel, with returning series like Million Pound Drop, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Chatty Man.
In 2012 Friday nights continue to be a priority for us. In January we launched The Bank Job, a live game show with an incredibly addictive online game that has been played by online audiences over 6 million times. The role of digital innovation is increasingly important. We want to explore new ways to use digital. When it comes to Entertainment, think interactive.
We have made an investment in new Channel 4 stars with talent-led formats like Jack Whitehall’s new series, Hit The Road Jack, and Micky Flanagan and Mark Watson’s new panel show, The Mad Bad Ad show, coming soon.
Now we want to also refresh Saturday nights with brand new shows in early evening and prime time.
