Trucks
Advancing armour is vulnerable without means of supply. An army consumes vast amounts of resources and the movement of troops and material would be painfully slow without trucks. These prime movers offered forces a logistical backbone, from hauling artillery pieces and ammunition to bringing rations and mail up to the front.
Many of the early models used in the war were commercial designs pressed into service, but the demands of hard and relentless driving and carrying led to the design of a number of specialist military trucks.
