Small arms

Mark 6 Webley (UK)

Length 28.6cm / 11.25in
Weight 1.09kg / 2.5lb
Muzzle velocity 200m / 650ft per second
Cartridge .445in / 11.6mm
Magazine 6-round cylinder

The only revolver in our selection, the Webley Mark 6 was one of a line of Webley revolvers that earned a sterling reputation with the armed forces. The relatively simple, six-shot sidearm is tough and reliable, even in poor conditions. Though a .38in version (Mark 4) was made, the majority of the Webley revolvers were of the heavy .445in calibre.

The breaking, or top-opening, pistol (as opposed to a side swing-out cylinder to access the magazine), incorporates an automatic extracting cam for removing spent cartridge cases when the pistol is opened. Good build quality added to the pistol’s reputation as a highly-accurate firearm.
