This six-wheeled armoured car was driven by a powerful six-cylinder engine, which could muster over 110hp. The combination of drive and wheels gave the car a fantastic overland capability, with plenty of torque and grip to manage difficult conditions.

One drawback of the M8 was that, though it had a similar overall weight to other armoured cars, it was very lightly armoured. At its thickest point only 8mm of armour protected the crew of four. However, the M8 was very well armed for a vehicle of this class and was also produced to a very high standard.
