Armoured cars
The armoured car started out as simply that; a car that had armour applied to it. During World War II the concept was refined into a range of practical vehicles that offered their users a level of protection against small-arms fire with an ability to travel around at relative speed.
Many armoured cars were used as small, section-command vehicles as they could be quickly transferred to necessary flashpoints along a front. Others were used as fast reconnaissance vehicles to scout ahead of a formation or as light-armoured vehicles in rear echelon or occupied territories.
