Anthropology Resources on the Internet

Part of the World History Index of the WWW Virtual Library (which claims to be the oldest catalogue on the web, started by Tim Berners-Lee, who created html code itself), this website includes a huge range of links to everything from university departments and museums to web forums and discussion lists. Different sections are arranged by subject or country, while the online search links cover most readily-accessible archaeological databases and libraries.

The Minnesota State University's E Museum has sections on archaeology and prehistory that contain a wide range of exhibits, resources and information on all aspects of archaeology and prehistory. It includes a page of Virtual archaeology links that will take you to sites offering everything from a VR tour of Egypt's pyramids to a virtual dig organised by the Department of Anthropology, at Northern Illinois University.
