The Flag Fen centre, near Peterborough, is the location of an extraordinary Bronze-Age ritual site – a huge timber construction of walkways, platforms and other structures preserved in the peaty soil. It has been estimated that more than two million trees were felled in the construction of this well-preserved site. The Flag Fen website provides further details of the discovery and history of the site, its visitor centre, excavation and reconstruction work, and visitors' facilities. Flag Fen's visitor centre houses the Museum of the Bronze Age containing artefacts found on site, including the oldest wheel in England on permanent display. The centre was also responsible for studying and preserving timbers from the Seahenge circle discovered off the Norfolk coast.

The Dover Bronze-Age boat is the oldest-known seagoing vessel in the world, now on display in its own gallery at the Dover Museum.
