What's your favourite Time Team dig?
Turkdean Roman villa in Gloucestershire. Totally unexpected results that were incredible … and the geophysics!

What's your favourite Time Team find?
The ditch at Mine Howe, in Orkney, which encircles mysterious steps that disappear into the ground … one of the Time Team Special documentary programmes.

What's the most important Time Team discovery?
Athelney monastery – the first programme that revealed what can be achieved in 3 days and paved the way for all other Time Team shoots.

What's your best Time Team moment?
Every time that we prove Stewart to be incorrect in his theorising…

What's your favourite archaeological site in the UK?
Orkney World Heritage sites: Brodgar, Stenness and Skara Brae.

And abroad?
Petra, in Jordan.

Who's your archaeological hero?
Phil Harding (joke!).

What's your favourite archaeology book?
Revealing the Buried Past: Geophysics for archaeologists (!)

If you could travel to one moment in time, where to and when?
Back to prehistoric Orkney to see people living in and around the monuments.

If you could dig one site, what would it be?
The settlement sites near the Ring of Brodgar, Orkney.

If you could make one find, what would it be?
A bone detector…
