John went to school in the time of comprehensives, leaving at the age of 16. Several qualifications in the building industry later and with a lot of experience under his belt, John discovered his teaching skills as a volunteer classroom assistant helping out in a special needs school. He now teaches as well as managing the curriculum for bricklaying and plastering at the College of North West London.
John is very proud of working in the construction industry and wants to promote the profession, which is his reason for taking part in the programme.
