Why me?
I would put all my energies into making the programme a success, and I would certainly gain an awful amount from the experience.

What did you get out of going back in time last summer?
I arrived at the grammar school awaiting a half-hearted attempt at a re-creation of a 1950s boarding school - a bit of shouting, a few detentions and uninviting food. I wasn't prepared for the total and relentless immersion in the 1950s regime I underwent. It was shocking, especially since I was expecting to have one over on the other kids because I have been to a boarding school since I was 13.
However, I quickly became good friends with many of the other people, and felt a tremendous, rare sense of genuine comradeship bound in trust against the establishment! Overall I enjoyed the experience and felt I learned a great deal about myself and how half-hearted and, in some ways, disappointing the current education system is.
