Liz, with an MA in English literature and a PhD in the history of science under her belt, works at the King's School in Canterbury. She says: 'I'm fascinated to learn the old techniques and approaches necessary to re-creating an historical way of teaching. I'd love to prove the reactionaries wrong by attempting to deliver a set of talented 16-year-olds into an old examination system and see them excel.'
