They were 'The Few', the young Spitfire and Hurricane fighter pilots who defeated Hitler's Luftwaffe to win the Battle of Britain and spare the country from Nazi invasion. Six decades on, Channel 4 tells their story and takes four young pilots from diverse backgrounds to see if they have what it takes to emulate their predecessors' heroic achievements.

The four-parter also traces the history and vital importance of the Battle of Britain, while surviving veterans tell their extraordinary stories which justify Winston Churchill's declaration: 'Never in the field of human conflict was so much been owed by so many to so few.'
