The Dallas letters

Letters in an old suitcase sparked the interest of Patrick Windle. A Colonel Dallas had sent them to Patrick's great-great-grandmother, asking for her help in tracing his family's history for a book he wished to write. Who were the Dallas family and did the book ever get written? Our research takes us from the Isle of Man to the US, piecing together the history of one of America's most influential families.

A Picture showing two old sepia-tinted photographs, a locket with a picture in it, two wax letter seals and a collection of six letters on top of an old book.

Update

Following the broadcast of our story about the Dallas letters, Don Dallas contacted Revealing Secrets from Scotland. Don's sister had watched the show and subsequently phoned her brother. They are curious to find out if there could be a family connection.

The Revealing Secrets team are currently trawling through records to find out if Don Dallas is a descendant of Colonel Alexander James Dallas - we'll keep you posted.
