In Regency Life:
As hostess of the Regency House Party, Mrs Roger's main objective, and reason for attending the house party, is to find a suitably wealthy marriage partner for the host and to prevent him from polluting his lineage by marrying beneath him. To this end she must ensure life in the house is one long party, where suitable attachments can be encouraged and secured. As the moral guardian of the household, it's her responsibility to enforce the Regency social code. Should any lady or gentleman behave inappropriately, she may ask them to leave.
In Real Life:
Fiona Rogers grew up in India before moving to London. She then ran a large country house in Cornwall were she was also head of Fund-Raising for the Cornish Boys' Clubs prior to her separation with her husband. Fiona used to be a model, and in more recent years a charity ball organiser and also plays a lot of Bridge. She spends a great deal of time gardening and visiting friends. She has four children and lives in Cambridgeshire. Fiona's mother was chaperoned as a young adult, and she herself has 'brought out' both of her daughters into society.
