What were your expectations before going into the house?
We were given very little information about what to expect, so apart from what I knew about the period - I really wasn't sure what to expect.
How well do you think you were suited to the Regency era?
Pretty well, as I love spending time in the country, enjoy good food, drinking and gambling.
Who did you fancy most in the house?
Alex one of the Chambermaids - who unfortunately was my Valet's girlfriend, and as he had to shave me every morning with a cut throat...!
What was your best time?
The Fancy, and practicing skill at arms - Galloping on horse back with sabres and trying to cut cabbages off poles, and of course my weekly bottle of Port with the Hermit.
What was your worst time?
Dancing lessons and trying to sort out the numerous disputes.
Do you have any regrets?
Not really.
What annoyed you most in the house?
Not being able to get anything or do anything by oneself, the general squabbling and fighting about petty issues. Oh yes and having to eat dinner at six - sitting in the dining room on those glorious summer evenings when all you wanted to do was be outside.
What did you like / dislike most about dating in Regency times?
One didn't really date in the Regency - it was marriage or nothing! However I found it very annoying not being able to have a friendly chat with a girl unchaperoned, and the gossip that circulated if you were able to sneak a quick conversation.
Do you think your experience in the house has changed you?
I wouldn't say that it has changed me, however it was an absolutely incredible experience where I think I learnt a lot about myself, and dealing with people.
What did you miss from the 21st Century?
Music, cigarettes, sex, and basically being free to do as you please.
Who will you keep in touch with?
Most people by e-mail, and those living in London; Carrington, Glover, Countess and of course my Valet, and the Hermit.
What are you doing now?
Film & Commercial Production, and developing a software company.
What would you have liked to see happen to your Regency personae?
Travelled to London to experience London life as a Regency Gentleman - clubs and women.
- If you were to do it again what would you do differently?
Open the local tavern.
Are you still single?
Yes
Do you treat the opposite sex any differently since leaving the house?
No not really although I occasionally remember to stand up when a Lady enters the room.
