In Regency Life:
With a much poorer income, Hayley and fellow guest Lisa Braund don't have the same benefits as the wealthier girls. They will have to make their own clothes and will get the more modest bedrooms. While each will have their own Chaperone, they will have to wait for the attentions of the maids, and before a formal function, will be lucky to receive any help at all. One will have to share her room with her Chaperone, while the other will sleep on a day bed in the dressing room attached to her Chaperone's. This means that every move will be carefully monitored. Both girls have the most to lose, however in a love match the most to gain.
In Real Life:
Hayley was brought up in a small town in South Wales, where she went to the local comprehensive school. Her mother was a Civil Servant and her father a retired Senior Police Officer. Her grandfather was an African American with Native American heritage. Hayley went to Cambridge to read History at Christ's College. Since leaving college, she has done various jobs, such as being a marketing executive, a private tutor, an actress, an account manager and is currently a trainee head-hunter in the city. Outside work, she enjoys keeping track of London's newest and funkiest cocktail bars and restaurants, going to the cinema and theatre and practising yoga.
