The UK National Inventory of War Memorials relies on volunteers to collect information about war memorials around the UK.
So far, with the help of thousands of volunteers, we have recorded over 56,000 memorials but there is still much information to be collected.
Not only do we need more help with fieldwork, but we are also looking for researchers to go through their local archives and find information on the background history of war memorials.
If you would be interested in helping the Inventory, the areas in which they currently need fieldwork help are: Scotland; Northern Ireland; London (please contact us for the specific districts we need help in); Avon; Nottinghamshire; Greater Manchester (photographers only needed); South Glamorgan.
We need help in most parts of the country with background research. Please look on the Lost Generation database at memorials in your area to get an idea of where we lack information and then get in touch with us if you are able to help.
Let us know what kind of help you are able to offer and we shall get back to you. (Please note: we are unable to pay travel expenses, so please bear this in mind when deciding on the geographical area you can cover.)
