Quick search
For a basic search simply put in the surname of the person. If you know the initials, this will help pinpoint the correct individual. An advanced search option is also available with which you can search using other details like place of birth or service unit.
If the person you are looking for is not yet in the database, you can add him/her from this section. The Lost Generation database started life containing all the relevant information in the UK’s official inventory of war memorials – this was substantial but not complete, so it is possible that the person you are looking for is not yet included and by adding a missing person you are helping complete the national records.
So in the event of the Advanced Search not finding the person you are looking for, you can add a missing person to the database. First check that the person in question is not on the list of names already submitted to be added.
