In 1957 an American archaeologist made a remarkable discovery that was to bring an ancient myth to life. Breaking into the burial mounds they had unearthed in a valley in western Turkey, Rodney Young and his team uncovered the bones of an historic king and the remnants of a lavish feast. Dating back nearly 3,000 years, these remains were of a king called Mita, but Greek mythology remembers him by a different name. This was the tomb of King Midas, the man whose touch turned everything to gold. For the Channel 4 programme, food expert and journalist Fuchsia Dunlop, aided by actor and presenter Ralf Little, examined the evidence found in the chamber in order to realise an incredible dream - the recreation of King Midas' funeral feast.
