Napoleon in exile on St Helena

Previous Previous event | Timeline | Next event Next

Napoleon arrives on the south Atlantic island of St Helena, where he has been exiled following his defeat. The Coalition forces have decided to send him as far away as possible to minimise the possibility of him making another attempt to return to power. They are probably wise to be cautious: Napoleon had already made an abortive attempt to escape to America before being put on a ship for exile.
