A Scottish Protestant reformer, George Wishart, is executed in front of the episcopal palace of David Beaton, cardinal archbishop of St Andrews. Three months later, religious reformers in St Andrews storm the cardinal's palace and kill Beaton, a cruel persecutor of Lutheran reformers.
