Cardinal Wolsey appointed lord chancellor

As a reward for helping organise Henry VIII's 1513 campaign in France, Thomas Wolsey is made lord chancellor of England. Because he holds immense power as the king's servant and as a top churchman, he dominates the political life of England until 1529.
