25 January 1327
Edward II, dominated by his favourites, has managed to alienate nearly all the barons in the country and, in 1327, Parliament declares him 'incorrigible without hope of amendment' and he is forced to abdicate. Edward is imprisoned and killed later in the year. His wife Isabella and her lover Roger Mortimer act as regents to the young Edward III. |
