19 June 1312
Believing that Edward II and his companions are bleeding the country dry, nobles appoint a committee of Lords Ordainers, led by Thomas, earl of Lancaster, to reform the government. They exile Piers Gaveston (see 7 July 1307) and return his lands to their previous owners. When Gaveston foolishly returns, he is executed. |
