Nerva dies, Trajan emperor

Previous Previous event | Timeline | Next event Next

The end of Nerva's short reign as emperor sees his adopted son Trajan succeed him. Trajan's rule, which includes the conquest of Dacia and Armenia and the annexation of Arabia, expands the empire to its furthest limits. Its sound finances and efficient administration help establish Trajan's reputation as one of Rome's greatest emperors.
