Generally favourable article on Churchill by military historian John
Keegan, arising from the fact that Churchill came 13th in the Time
magazine poll for the top 100 people of the 20th century (Elvis Presley
came first).
Churchill: The gathering storm

Fascinating article by Professor John Charmley in which he accuses
Churchill of rewriting history and only appearing to be correct about
the rise of Hitler with the benefit of hindsight. And, according to Charmley,
his influence did not end with his death: 'And so we have come to our
current Rogue's Gallery: Hitler, Stalin, Nasser, Castro, Ghaddafi, Saddam
and Bin Laden, all cut from the same cloth, all of whom must be "stopped"
because "appeasement" is always wrong. How do we know that? Churchill
told us so.' Part of the BBC History website.

Cogent biography of the British leader. Elsewhere on this website you'll find biographies of Hitler, Stalin and Roosevelt and information on how they interacted and affected each other – Churchill scores most for 'Imperialist tendencies'.

An article commenting on the sudden popularity of Churchill with
such present-day figures as US President George W Bush and former New
York City mayor Rudy Giuliani ('Churchill in a Yankees cap') and asking
whether the man was as great as these fans paint him.
