The Battle of Britain
www.raf.mod.uk/bob1940/bobhome.html
The official RAF site. These pages catalogue the official reports of what the RAF considers to be the most important event in its history. For the first time, the complete daily Fighter Command operational diaries for the period have been published in full. Supporting this official text are pages detailing such things as the commanders, the aircraft and the changes in tactics on both sides as the situation developed. Although some of the Fighter Command claims of the time (for example, numbers of German aircraft shot down) have since been proved to be greatly exaggerated on some days, the diaries nevertheless give a unique insight into the RAF's perspective of the battle.
