Young Friends

Why not give your children a gift that lasts a whole year?

As Young Friends, they can find out more about the British Museum and discover past and present cultures in lots of different ways. Membership is an ideal way to ensure that they’ll be the first to know what’s going on at the museum.

Membership benefits include:

  • ReMUS, a 20-page, full-colour children’s magazine sent out three times a year

    ReMUS
is packed full of fascinating facts about the museum as well as the latest news and details of Young Friends events (including sleepovers!). Regular features include ‘My Favourite Thing’ (Young Friends choose the BM treasures they like best) and ‘Young Friend Interviews’ (where Young Friends interrogate BM curators about their jobs), plus plenty of competitions, puzzles and more.
  • Four museum sleepovers a year

This is when Young Friends can spend the night exploring the museum after dark! There’s a great range of activities, from storytelling and crafts to talks by curators. These are fantastic opportunities to discover the museum and learn more about the collection – and Young Friends can bring their friends along too!
  • A wide variety of events for Young Friends and their families to enjoy

There are quite a few free ones, and also paid special events outside the museum so Young Friends can expand their horizons and find new places to explore.
  • A great membership pack when children join.

Young Friends membership makes a great present. It’s available to all children aged between 8 and 15 and only costs £20 a year.

All you need to do is ring the Membership Office on 020 7323 8195 or order online.
