This website explores the issues raised in two Channel 4 programmes: Battle for the Holocaust, broadcast on Britain's first Holocaust Memorial Day, 27 January 2001, and The Final Insult, broadcast in April 2005. Battle for the Holocaust raised controversial questions about the world’s perception of the Nazi extermination. Jewish historians looked at how our understanding of the Holocaust has changed since World War II, and asked whose interests are served by the proliferation of museums and commemoration events. The Final Insult explored the painful and sensitive conflict over the distribution of money in reparation to those who survived the Nazi genocide of the Jews. Dr Brian Klug adds his opinion to the debate.
