The Adoption Register, which has been run by the British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) since December 2004, contains the details of both children awaiting adoption and approved adoptive families. It uses a specialist database and the skills of a specially trained team to find potentially suitable families for children across England and Wales.

One of the UK's largest adoption and fostering agencies, with information and nationwide events for those concerned with adoption, fostering and child care. They run a free agency search service to help you find a suitable adoption agency, and a 'Be My Parent' service for prospective families. During National Adoption Week (7-13 November 2005) BAAF are running an answering service that you can ring to receive a free information pack. The number is 0845 560120.

UK charity for everyone with a personal or professional involvement in fostering. Through their four UK offices, the organisation offers training, publications, advice and support for foster carers and other professionals. They also work directly with young people in and leaving foster care, as well as with the sons and daughters of foster carers.

National project that finds families for children, particularly those with disabilities and children who need to stay with their brothers and sisters. Families are needed to adopt and foster children of all ages and backgrounds. The Parents for Children emphasis is on the child – recruiting families specifically for that child and supporting the whole family after placement.
