Ulrika… Am I A Sex Addict? header image

Channel 4 Tuesday 20 March at 9pm

According to Sex Addicts Anonymous over four million British men and women are addicted to sex. But what makes a sex addict and when does something that starts out as ‘a bit of fun’ develop into a destructive addiction?

Ulrika Jonsson

TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson authors this revealing documentary because she is ‘genuinely interested and fascinated by people's sexual behaviour – including my own…. I haven't for a second considered the idea that I might be a sex addict.’ She meets with experts and therapists in America to learn more about the illness and to establish exactly what defines a sex addict. As the investigation progresses, Ulrika's search for answers soon becomes a very powerful personal journey and she discovers that possible sex addiction is not just about needing sex every minute of the day, or obsessive masturbation, it also covers much wider issues, not least the rise of internet pornography.

More information and help about sex addiction is available here. You can also find out more details on Dr Patrick Carnes' sex addiction questionnaire used by Ulrika.

Ulrika explored the possible link between pornography and sex addiction. Do you think pornography is addictive? Read the arguments then vote to give us your views. Or why not try our special quiz to find out if you take too many risks with your love life.
