The ladies of Portsmouth get the feel of Africa beneath their feet as Gillian McKeith gets them to try out a trainer specially designed to imitate the way the Masai walk.
Research has shown that the Masai tribes have good muscle tone due to walking bare foot.
The foot moves differently when bare to when wearing a shoe, so these trainers copy the bare foot style and exercise more muscles than normal which should improve muscle tone and posture.
The recommended method is to start by wearing the trainer until you can feel it work and build up to wearing it all the time.
Result
The ladies of Portsmouth lost a total of 19.5 inches with an average loss of 1.77 inches.
