This is the BBC's website to help adults develop better reading and writing skills (RaW). There are some inspiring stories and videos showing why people decided to do something to improve their reading and writing skills along with various games and quizzes. There are also RaW events across the country which include reading groups and a helpline where you can talk over what your next steps could be.

Careers Wales is an all-Wales service that gives people of all ages free careers information, advice and guidance. Careers Wales encourages people to engage in learning, skills, and career development. Careers Wales has about 80 Careers centres across Wales and can provide advice and guidance about literacy and numeracy. There are six Careers Wales companies covering the whole of Wales: Cardiff and Vale; Mid Glamorgan and Powys; North East Wales, North West Wales; West Wales; and Gwent.

The WEA is the country's largest voluntary sector provider of education for adults. The WEA runs some basic literacy classes for adults. The WEA is regionally based and their main website has links to their regional ones where courses are listed.
EGSA, Connecting Adults with Learning – Northern Ireland

EGSA is an independent, voluntary organisation that provides confidential advice and support to adults who may need help with reading, writing and maths. Advisers are available by phone or in person to help adults discuss any fears or concerns about returning to learning and help them get started on the most appropriate course. EGSA holds information on courses across Northern Ireland and can contact the learning provider on behalf of the learner to help arrange enrolment on a course. Follow up support is also available.
