Write into the Future

Why Write | Little Box of Thoughts | Wish Box | Letters for the Future | Sarah's Letter

Post it notes
The idea behind this activity is to write a series of cards to be kept together in a box. You can use almost anything for the cards, from index cards to post-it notes. Winston's Wish sells a special set specifically made for this purpose. The key is just to write simple thoughts on each card, using starting phrases which you should finish. For instance:
  • I love you because…
  • I feel proud of you because…
  • I hope that…
  • A favourite memory I have is…
  • You make me laugh when…
  • When we're not together, what I miss about you is…
  • Remember when…
  • Thank you for…

The cards can either be kept separately or in a memory box as part of the whole memory experience. Whatever you do with the box, it will be a unique and permanent reminder for your child that you and they share a secure and loving relationship, no matter what.
