The Curtis Family

Biography l Steve Writes

Melissa, Steve, Imogen and Wendy Curtis
The Curtis family, from Wythall near Birmingham, are mum Wendy (42), dad Steve (38), Imogen (6) and Melissa (4).

Wendy died of cancer in January 2007

Wendy and Steve were both total chatterboxes and enjoyed lively conversations about almost anything, showing constant humour and affection. Steve owns a carpet fitting company and Wendy showed dogs as a hobby. They had been together for 10 years but they only decided to get married when Wendy was diagnosed with lung cancer (the non-smoking-related kind) in March 2006. Their wedding took place the following summer, with the girls as bridesmaids.

They dote on their daughters who are cheeky, funny and outgoing. The girls love dressing up and dancing and try to make mummy better by putting on a show for her. Wendy kept a scrapbook of memories since the girls were born and since her diagnosis had been focusing on creating happy memories for the children. Wendy's ambition was to finish a patchwork quilt she was making for Melissa. She had made one for Imogen as a baby and didn't want Melissa to grow up wondering why mum never made her one.
