A one-time chalet girl, Merrilees Parker started cooking at a young age helped by her grandmother. She cut her cooking teeth at The Lansdowne in Primrose Hill where she earned top reviews for her straightforward style of cooking.
Her television career began with research for both the BBC and Channel 4. She graduated to being in front of the camera at the end of the 1990s and in 2005 became one of the presenters of Full on Food for the BBC since when she's presented programmes on a number of channels.
Her cooking style is described as no-nonsense and she pays particular attention to ensuring she adapts her food and presentation for her target audience. She now co-runs her own company called Pink Food building on experience gained whilst working for Antony Worrall Thompson's event and corporate catering company.
